Who is behind the brand
MX-Sport is a French company run by Jolan Faucheur, with a workshop in Morlaix, Finistère. The site gives no founding date. Jolan Faucheur also founded the Gravity Street Workout association, and MX Sport co-organizes the Gravity Armoric Battle Tour, the freestyle festival in Plourin-lès-Morlaix. The brand presents itself as a workshop: everything is made by hand, in woods it names, beech, oak, sapelli, plus cork, with products developed alongside athletes.
What they make
Three pairs of parallettes in raw beech, left unvarnished for environmental reasons, with cork pads and hot-iron branding. The MX Bars V3 are the short pair: a 25 cm grip of 4 cm, 8.3 cm high, 14 cm wide, 1.3 kg the pair. The MX Bars Practice keep the same height and width with a 40 cm grip, 1.7 kg. The MX-BARS Design are the tall pair, 57 cm long, 16 cm high and 20 cm wide, in beech and sapelli, about 3 kg. Alongside, the MX Bricks V2, balance blocks in sapelli and cork, 13.5 by 9 by 5.5 cm, 1 kg each, engravable, and a 250 ml liquid chalk. The rest of the catalog is clothing.
Because each piece is handmade, the brand warns that dimensions vary a little from one pair to the next. No load rating is published.
What to check before you order
For the parallettes, the question is length: 25 cm for the pair that travels, 40 cm for margin in handstand, 57 cm and 16 cm high to get under the bar. All share the same 4 cm grip. The wood is raw: expect to look after it, and accept that a handmade pair will not match the stated dimensions exactly.
What you cannot check from the product page: the load rating, absent from every page, and the production lead time.
The practical side: the site publishes no shipping page, no shipping cost, no delivery time and no return policy, although the terms of sale refer to one. The shop says it ships as soon as possible. Who it suits
Someone who wants a raw wood pair made by hand in France, by a workshop from the Breton freestyle scene, and who accepts a minimal shop. The Bricks are for those who work on hand balancing.
It is not the brand to choose if you need a load rating, a delivery time or a written return policy before paying.
My tests
I have not tested an MX-Sport product yet. The MX Bars are in my parallettes picks, on spec sheet alone. A full test will come when a pair goes under the caliper.
